Motorola has confirmed that the motorola edge 70 will make its India debut on December 15. The new smartphone joins the company’s mid range lineup with a strong focus on camera performance, display quality and durability. The brand has revealed multiple details ahead of the launch, including colour options and key specifications.
The motorola edge 70 will be available via Flipkart, Motorola’s website and retail stores after its release. The design follows the familiar style seen in recent Edge series models, featuring a vegan leather back and a square circular camera module. At 5.99mm thick, the phone enters the category of ultra slim devices, similar to the Galaxy S25 Edge and Tecno Pova Slim.
The company has confirmed a triple 50 camera system on the motorola edge 70, including a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultra wide lens. The phone supports 4K 60fps video recording from all three cameras. On the front, users will find a 50MP quad pixel shooter for selfies and video calls, which aligns with the growing trend toward high resolution front cameras in mid range devices.

The display is another highlight. The motorola edge 70 will feature a 6.7 inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The phone also includes Dolby Atmos support and MIL STD 810H protection for added durability. Motorola confirms the device will come with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front.
Motorola Edge 70 features and durability confirmed
Motorola has announced that the motorola edge 70 will include both IP68 and IP69 ratings, meaning the device can survive submersion in 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes. It can also endure cold and hot water jets from different angles, giving it a durability edge over many mid range competitors. The phone will be offered in Lily Pad, Gadget Grey and Bronze Green colour options.
The motorola edge 70 comes with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The software experience will be based on Motorola’s Hello UI running on Android 16. The company has committed to three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates, which is significant for long term use.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor powers the motorola edge 70, and the device weighs just 159 grams, making it one of the lighter phones in its segment. Motorola is also adding several AI supported features such as Circle to Search, Magic Eraser and Magic Editor. Smart Connect 3.0 is included, allowing users to mirror their phone on a PC or use the handset as a companion tool for streaming and productivity.
With the launch approaching, the motorola edge 70 is positioned as a strong competitor in the premium mid range category, offering a combination of performance, durability and camera capabilities that may appeal to buyers looking for a balanced and long lasting device.
