Motorola has expanded its mid range smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Moto Edge 70, positioning the device as a durability focused and AI powered upgrade over the Edge 60. The new handset targets users looking for a premium display, long term software support and flagship grade camera hardware at a competitive price point.
The Moto Edge 70 was officially introduced on December 15, 2025, and will go on sale later this month through Flipkart, Motorola’s official store and offline retail partners.
Moto Edge 70 brings AMOLED display, strong build and AI features
The Moto Edge 70 features a 6.7 inch Super HD AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. The panel supports HDR10+ and is Pantone validated, which Motorola says ensures more accurate color reproduction for both content consumption and photography.
Durability is a key highlight of the device. Motorola has equipped the Moto Edge 70 with MIL STD 810H certification, along with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, adding an extra layer of scratch and impact resistance for daily use.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Motorola ships the device with Hello UI based on Android 16 and has committed to three Android OS upgrades along with four years of security updates, a promise that strengthens its appeal in the mid segment market.
The Moto Edge 70 also integrates multiple AI services including motoAI 2.0, Google Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity, reflecting Motorola’s broader push toward on device and cloud assisted productivity features.
Camera, battery and pricing details
Camera performance remains central to the Moto Edge 70’s positioning. The device features a dual rear camera system with a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultrawide lens. On the front, Motorola has included a 50MP selfie camera. All cameras support 4K video recording at 60 frames per second, which is notable for a phone in this price range.
Battery duties are handled by a 5,000mAh unit with 68W wired fast charging included in the box. The phone also supports 15W wireless charging, offering flexibility for users who prefer cable free charging setups.
In India, the Moto Edge 70 is priced at Rs 29,999 and will be available in Pantone Bronze Green, Lily Pad and Gadget Gray color options. Sales begin on December 23, making it one of the final major smartphone launches of the year in the sub Rs 30,000 segment.
With a combination of premium display technology, strong durability credentials and extended software support, the Moto Edge 70 aims to strengthen Motorola’s presence in India’s competitive mid range smartphone market.
