Xiaomi has officially started rolling out its latest HyperOS 3 update to select smartphones and tablets across Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco lineups. The rollout was confirmed by a senior Xiaomi India executive and brings Android 16 to more devices in the Indian market. The update follows the debut of HyperOS 3 earlier this year, which first arrived preinstalled on the Xiaomi 17 series.
Along with Android 16, the new update introduces system-level design changes, advanced multitasking features, and a set of AI-powered tools under Xiaomi HyperAI. The rollout is being carried out in phases and availability may vary by device and region.
HyperOS 3 rollout details and eligible devices
According to Xiaomi India Associate Director of Marketing and PR Sandeep Sarma, the company has begun pushing the HyperOS 3 update to multiple devices. Models confirmed to receive the Android 16-based update include the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi Pad 7, Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi 13, Poco F7, and Poco M7 Pro 5G.
Users with compatible devices can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings, opening the My Device section, tapping the HyperOS banner at the top, and selecting Check for update. Once available, users will see an option to download and install the new firmware. The device may restart multiple times during the installation process.
Xiaomi first unveiled HyperOS 3 at its September 2025 launch event, where the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max became the first smartphones to ship with the operating system out of the box.
HyperOS 3 features, HyperIsland and HyperAI integration
The HyperOS 3 update introduces several interface enhancements, including the new HyperIsland feature. Designed to offer quick access to important alerts, HyperIsland appears as a pill-shaped element at the top of the display. It provides live activity updates such as charging speed and ongoing system actions without interrupting active apps.
Xiaomi has also introduced a dual island interface design that allows users to switch, expand, and manage tasks directly from the current screen. This reduces the need to move between apps and enhances multitasking efficiency. The update further supports dynamic wallpapers and cinematic lock screens generated from still images.
A major focus of the HyperOS 3 update is the integration of Xiaomi HyperAI tools. These include AI-based writing features such as smart screen recognition and DeepThink mode. Users can modify the tone and writing style of messages and emails using on-device intelligence. The update also brings AI Speed Recognition, which improves audio recording quality, generates real-time transcripts, and summarises recorded audio content.
With Android 16 at its core, HyperOS 3 aims to deliver a more fluid interface, smarter productivity tools, and deeper AI integration across Xiaomi’s ecosystem. The rollout is expected to expand to additional devices in the coming weeks.
