Xiaomi has quietly rolled out the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ in global markets, months after introducing the phone in China. While the company has not yet published an official product page, details shared by GSMArena and reported by 91mobiles confirm that the international version is not identical to the Chinese model. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ global variant brings notable upgrades to imaging and charging, alongside a few trade-offs that could shape its reception in key markets like India.
At the center of the changes is the camera system. Xiaomi has upgraded the primary sensor to a 200MP camera, replacing the 50MP unit used on the China-only model. On paper, this should deliver sharper images and improved flexibility for cropping and digital zoom. Fast charging has also been improved, with the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ now supporting up to 100W wired charging globally, compared to 80W on the Chinese version.
However, these upgrades come with compromises. Xiaomi has reduced the battery capacity to 6,500mAh, down from 7,000mAh. The phone also drops the telephoto lens entirely. The rear camera setup now includes only the 200MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra wide lens. The third cutout visible in the squircle camera module is a dummy element, not an active sensor. This decision removes optical zoom capabilities, which could have been a differentiator in the upper mid range segment.
Display, durability and core hardware remain familiar
The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ features a 6.83 inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness rated at 3,200 nits. While the panel retains most of the characteristics seen on the Chinese variant, the resolution has been slightly adjusted to 2772 x 1280 pixels. Xiaomi has also changed the display protection, replacing Dragon Crystal Glass with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, the same glass used on the Redmi Note 14 Pro+.
Durability remains a strong point. The device carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, positioning it among the most rugged phones in its class. Powering the handset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen series chipset, paired with RAM and storage options of 8GB 128GB, 12GB 256GB and 12GB 512GB. Other features include a 32MP front camera, an in display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi Res Audio support, Bluetooth 5.4, eSIM, NFC and HyperOS.
Xiaomi has also added its Offline Communication feature, enabling device to device voice calls over long distances without network coverage. The Xiaomi Surge T1S tuner is included to improve signal stability across Wi Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and cellular networks.
Pricing, India launch timeline and positioning
Xiaomi has not yet announced global pricing for the Redmi Note 15 Pro+. In China, the phone debuted at a starting price of CNY 1,999, which roughly converts to Rs 25,600. Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 15 series will launch in India on January 6, 2026, but has not disclosed whether the Pro+ variant will be part of the initial rollout.
Given that the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ launched in India at Rs 30,999, Xiaomi may be under pressure to price the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ aggressively if it wants to stay competitive in 2026. With incremental upgrades and a few strategic cuts, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ appears positioned as an evolution rather than a major leap.
