The upcoming Vivo V70 has moved a step closer to launch after appearing on the US Federal Communications Commission database. The FCC certification listing provides early insight into the phone’s memory configuration, connectivity options and software, suggesting that Vivo is preparing to expand its V series lineup soon. The device has already surfaced on other certification and benchmarking platforms, strengthening expectations of an imminent announcement.
Vivo V70 FCC certification details
According to the FCC certification documents, an unreleased Vivo smartphone carrying the model number V2538 has been approved in the United States. This model number has been linked to the Vivo V70 in earlier leaks and listings. The FCC entry includes a test report and supporting documents under the FCC ID 2AUCYV2538, confirming several core specifications.
The listing indicates that the Vivo V70 will support 5G connectivity along with Bluetooth, NFC and Wi Fi 6. These features place the phone firmly in the upper mid range category. The FCC paperwork also points to a configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, suggesting Vivo may continue its trend of offering generous memory options in the V series.
Software details referenced in the certification hint that the Vivo V70 could run Android 16 out of the box. Vivo’s custom interface, likely OriginOS 6, is expected to be layered on top, though this has not yet been officially confirmed. While the FCC listing does not directly name the processor, earlier benchmark data associated with the same model number suggests the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset.
Beyond the FCC certification, the Vivo V70 has also appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards website, indicating that an India launch may be close. A recent Geekbench listing showed the device with 8GB of RAM, Android 16 and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC. In benchmark testing, it reportedly scored 1,235 points in single core performance and 3,920 points in multi core performance, which aligns with expectations for this chipset class.
The Vivo V70 is expected to arrive as a successor to the Vivo V60, which launched in India in August at a starting price of Rs. 36,999 for the 8GB and 128GB variant. The Vivo V60 featured a 6.77 inch quad curved AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. It was powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and offered up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
In terms of cameras, the Vivo V60 shipped with a triple rear setup including a 50 megapixel primary sensor, a 50 megapixel telephoto lens and an 8 megapixel ultra wide camera. It also carried a 50 megapixel front camera. A 6,500mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging and IP68 plus IP69 ratings rounded out its specifications. The Vivo V70 is expected to build on this foundation with incremental upgrades, though exact hardware details remain unconfirmed.
With FCC certification now in place and multiple regulatory and benchmark appearances, the Vivo V70 appears to be nearing its official debut. Vivo has not announced a launch date yet, but the growing trail of listings suggests that more information could be revealed soon.
